The Bf109E-3 at Deutsches Museum is oldest preserved Bf109.
It was built as WNr. 790 at Erla Maschinenfabrik Leipzig in 1939 and delivered to Spain by sea as a knock-down kit.
It was in active duty as C.4E-106 with various Spanish units until 1954. It was transferred to  Deutsches Museum in 1960.
The paintjob is completely non-authentic.
