The Quickie Aircraft Corporation sold plans and kits for the original single place Quickie and later sold kits for the two seat version called the Q2. Development started with a reduced weight, four-stroke, horizontally opposed, two-cylinder, direct drive type engine with continuous 3,600 rpm produced by Onan. Burt Rutan then came up with the novel tractor canard tailless "biplane" configuration which may be viewed as a staggered tandem wing. More -> here |
