Werknummer 1407 is presumed to have been built by Erla Maschinenwerke in Leipzig. It was commissioned by the Luftwaffe November 28, 1939 and served with II./JG 77 during the Norway campaign. Later during the war it made a forced landing on a frozen lake on the Kola peninsula, where it finally sank. When salvaged in 1993, it was found marked Red 5 on the starboard side and Black 2 on the port side. |
