The Me262 at Deutsches Museum is the most authentic example preserved today.
It made an emergency landing due to lack of fuel at Dubendorf, Switzerland, on 25 April 1945.
It was returned to Germany in 1956. To the grief of purists, it got repainted in the 1980s.
